Are the front and back tied together between the legs, is there an inseam?

Yes, this item has an inseam down the middle of the shorts.
Thanks for referring me to the sexy side split short, but it seems that the waist size of their XL is smaller than the XL waist size in the Zen shorts.

Sheer and sexy!

These are wonderful. Perfect fit, very daring yet everything is kept perfectly in place. You can still see the outline of your naughty bits though, which would really be accentuated, especially after a swim!‎ Really comfortable, great stuff!

Very comfortable but minimal seam. Best used with a G-string or something like that. Beware.
